Watercolor & Music Workshop at Ravensgoods

Karin Lekan, a trained illustrator who uses watercolor as her medium, invites you to join her for an afternoon of painting and drawing to live music by Maris O'Tierney of Park Hills Circle , who will share vocal and guitar arrangements of songs from her new album All of a Sudden

Maris's colorful and atmospheric music lends itself well to collaboration in visual art. Her songs draw inspiration from her two home origins — the majestic mountains of Alaska and the ancient mysticism of seaside Ireland — as well as from her deep background in classical guitar and voice. In this workshop, we will explore creating marks on watercolor paper while paying close attention to the music being performed. We will use our senses as well as looking inward - a chance to slow down and be curious about the sounds you are hearing or feelings that are arising. Watercolor will be the main medium in the class, but other drawing materials will be provided to maximize your creativity. Just like Maris's beautiful melodies and Karin’s delicate, intuitive brushstrokes, let your creative spirit free and flow out onto the page with no judgment or cares. No experience necessary.
